Apart from sports and creativity, Tung Chi Ying places strong emphasis on language development across the curriculum. Our English programme is designed to balance academic rigour with authentic language use. While preparing students for the HKDSE remains a key objective, equal importance is placed on equipping them to communicate confidently in real-life contexts.

To enrich students’ language experience, bi-weekly Creative and Performing Arts (CPA) lessons provide opportunities for expressive and collaborative use of English, while the Extensive Reading Scheme (ERS), also conducted bi-weekly, fosters a sustained reading habit and broadens students’ exposure to the language. In addition, “English Fridays” create an immersive environment where all school announcements are delivered in English, and student representatives from each class regularly share in English through the school broadcast system, promoting active participation and a vibrant English-speaking culture on campus.
